The Reiki Precepts: Orientation to an Enlightened Life

Imagine living a life that feels consistently rooted, spacious and deeply connected—to yourself, to each other and to the world. A life within which you come to remember yourself with deeper intimacy and trust, and are able to make decisions from this nourished place.

The system of Reiki offers us a simple, and reliable path that can help us get there, arising from the strong foundation of the Reiki Precepts.

These five Precepts offer us guidance on how and where to focus our attention to live rooted, spacious and connected. At the same time, they offer an elegant description of what we can expect life to feel like when we are on the path: Unattached to anger and fear, rooted in gratitude, able to be true to our way and our being, and at the foundation of all of it, compassionate to ourselves and all others.

This path is simple, and yet not easy to develop the diligent consistency needed to unlearn our mindsets and behaviors that keep us trapped. And so, we create spaces to practice together, build consistency and provision us deeply for the specific needs of a given season.

In this class we will:

  • Learn the origins and spiritual context of the Reiki Precepts from their Japanese Buddhist origins, and connect these origins to the very real challenges and joys of our modern daily lives.

  • Begin to build a relationship with these Precepts in a way that allows them to guide us with both strength and flexibility.

  • Learn diverse practices that can be easily applied in daily life to bring these Precepts to life within our day to day experience. Includes mantra, meditation an d movement practices.

Whether you are new to Reiki, or in Reiki practice, the Precepts can be a reliable, dynamic and effective guide for finding grounding, spaciousness, connection and joy in daily life.
